I am the principal of a large urban primary school in Hawke’s Bay. Simkin Construction have been on our school site for the last 2 years and have completed numerous projects. I can't recommend them highly enough.

The stand-out areas I have observed consistently during the two years include -

●  Their site foremen are well trained and very effective in their role. Health and Safety is paramount in a school setting and each of our projects have been well managed, well documented with regular checks and clear communication at all times.

●  As with all workplaces, staff come and go and change from time to time. This is no different in the building industry and this was managed exceptionally well. In my opinion it was managed so well that it did not impact our projects in any way.

●  The management team always attended regular site meetings (not always the case for some companies I have found) and were really responsive to our needs and changes made during the build process. The team were very proactive at suggesting solutions or ideas to support the vision of the build. They were totally vested in ensuring the end result was outstanding.

●  Our school site has many demands with large numbers of children and community members daily. At all times the on-site team were aware of school needs, were flexible around noise and access and kept the site tidy and clean.

●  Finally, the team are great people who listen well, are fabulous to work with, are flexible and most importantly, take great pride in their work.

I have worked with numerous build companies in various schools. I have now worked with Simkin on two different school sites and this is testament to their finished product, attention to detail and their work ethic and culture. I highly recommend Simkin Construction.
