SPRINGHILL TREATMENT CENTRE, NAPIER.

A staged rebuild over three years saw a historic hospital in central Napier transformed into a modern 15-bed live-in addiction treatment centre.

Designed by Neil Fenwick Architects, the project involved demolition then an addition to merge an existing build into a new one. Using largely Fundermax exterior lap siding, the build included multiple bathrooms, a large commercial kitchen, living spaces and office spaces.

The result was a truly modern facility to serve the Hawke’s Bay community, while retaining the classic elements of existing parts of the building.
