This involved the build of the Piccolini head office and a state-of-art new early childhood centre in Hastings. Concept incorporates a café to nurture parental engagement with the centre and other parents to create a truly nurturing environment. This fast growing business is expanding their centres across the central North Island which will see Simkin Construction actively involved as a development partner.
This project for Napier City Council produced a fantastic new public chaining shed and toilets on Hardinge Road in Napier, just in time for everyone to enjoy the beautiful Hawke's Bay summer.
This Dalton Street retail redevelopment and seismic strengthening project worked closely with the original Art Deco design elements to ensure that it maintained its Historic Places status whilst bring the interior fit out up to modern expectations.
The National Aquarium of NZ penguin enclosure and workshop project saw the addition of a penguin enclosure to allow the public to view the animals playing, all of whom have arrived at the aquarium due to injuries or illness. In addition, a new workshop and boatshed was added to the building in a sensitive way to keep with the original builds architectural layout. These additions have allowed the Aquarium to increase its ability to provide a rescue and care function for sea animals on the NZ coastline.
A tasteful seismic strengthening project that had to be completed outside of normal store hours so as not to impact on trading.

This was the rebuild of an existing bar to cater for a gaming and sports area along with a large restaurant / garden bar. This has transformed this suburban establishment and provided Taradale residents with a family friendly venue ideally suited to local celebrations and a quiet drink or game.
The Titoki Substation involved a completely new build project with the project extending to the seismic strengthening of 28 sub-stations across Hawke’s Bay, Taupo and Rotorua regions. This included the bunding of all transformers and significant foundation strengthening to build the networks capacity to remain fully operational in adverse weather or earthquake conditions. Simkin personnel worked closely with engineers to enhance the networks capacity and integrity.
This project transformed a tired bar into a contemporary family restaurant and bar with large garden area for a valued client. This included the creation of a new brand and business personality. This renovation and extension has created a vibrant social area which caters for a wide range of diners and has provided Napier with a great social space.
