Terry Simkin

Terry Simkin  Managing Director

Terry has worked in the construction industry for the last 37 years.  Experience in the industry gives him expertise in all aspects of construction.  His focus is on business development and client retention by maintaining best practise project management.

As Simkin’s representative Terry establishes and maintains effective formal and informal links with major customers and local government agencies. He feels this is key to ensure that the Company is providing the appropriate quality of services to our clients.

Terry is a qualified quantity surveyor, is a company director and is actively involved as a Board Member with Basketball Hawke’s Bay.

Henry Botha  Quantity Surveyor - Nat Dip QS MNZIQS

Henry has over 12 years’ experience in both residential and commercial construction sectors. In his role as QS he manages all costs related to the project from the initial estimate to final costs for the project. His expertise is in minimising the costs of the project and enhancing value for money, whilst not compromising the desired quality and expectations form both architects and clients.

His experience in the construction industry started after completing his Quantity Surveying degree in Wellington. Henry joined Mainzeal Construction and worked on some large scale commercial projects, varying from $3-60 million for 5 years before relocating his family to Hawkes Bay.

He loves being here and enjoys the Bay lifestyle.  During his 7 years in the Bay he has worked with Mackersey Construction and Angus McMillan Concrete, doing various aspects of construction from initial estimates to Project managing and organizing of staff.

Gary Wright

Gary Wright  Contracts Manager - Nat.Cert.Carp.Adv

As Simkin’s Contracts Manager for the last 8 years, he is responsible for overseeing projects from start through to completion, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget. We rely on him to manage critical dates, organise labour, resolve disputes, initiate health and safety training and identify areas of concern.
